Lately, I have been feeling like all is lost and there is nothing we can do to stop what is going on in our country and then a Facebook friend shared this story and it gave me hope.

With nothing more than a short notice in a local paper (Peach Pundit) the people lined the streets of small towns in Georgia to honor one of their own….

As long as there are men and women willing to pay the ultimate price for our freedom – there is hope, as long as there are people who will line the streets of small towns in rural America to honor our fallen heroes – there is hope, as long as we hold hope in our hearts – all is not lost. I did not know Sgt John Beale, nor did I ever meet him, but his sacrifice and that of all our American heroes has restored my hope for America.

Thank you Sgt Beale and all who serve and sacrifice for our country so that we may live in freedom and peace.

God Bless America – may She ever be the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Why do we allow others to define who we are?

I find it very interesting that the media has labeled conservatives as against a woman’s right to chose, or against helping the less fortunate, or against immigration. I’m not against a woman’s right to chose, I am for a babies right to live. I’m not against helping others, I just don’t think it is the governments’ job to help those in need, we are a very generous people and if the government would get out of the way the local communities would help those who are in need. I’m not against immigration, I’m for legal immigration. I define myself as being for Life, for a smaller government, for less (much less) spending, for less taxes, for following the constitution, for my right to keep and bear arms, for state sovereignty, I think you get the picture.

I refuse to be defined by others who want to paint me and other conservatives as being anti everything. If we allow others to label us we will lose everything including our freedom. It is time to stand up FOR what we believe and FOR the Constitution and FOR our families and communities.

We must find the courage within ourselves to resist what those in government are doing to our great country.

We can return this country to the Republic that our forefathers gave us but, we must be willing to stand up and be heard and stop letting others define who we are and what we believe, it will not happen just because we want it to.

The fact that the media and the left are trying to redefine who we are and misrepresent what we are trying to do tells me that we are making an impact and we must continue to make our voices heard!!

Can we keep our Republic?

I have, for the last couple of days, been shamelessly promoting my SILs blog. I hope that you will take a few moments of your time and read the articles he has written, it will be time well-spent.

In his first article he gives a history of secession in the context of the Tea Parties. In Michael’s second article he speaks to the fear, loathing and outrage of the Hollywood crowd and their friends in the media because they are forced to acknowledge those of us who have found our voice.

Not only did we find our voice but we have found a way to peacefully speak out against a government that is out of control and making up their own rules as they go.

At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was said to have been asked this question:

“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?” and he replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

We must continue to be engaged and vigilant if we hope to keep our Republic for our children and our grandchildren. I pray that “We the People” will never again become complacent and that we will have the courage of our forefathers to stand up, and fight if necessary, for what we know is right
